@linett122 I can see Subaru’s marketing manager walking into the engineering room like “Make sure it has a giant scoop on it, so we can market this car to ricers they’ll pay top dollar for a car with a giant scoop on it.” Then the next thing you know they start rerouting the IC. But no really… it’s just the Japanese stealing a concept call Ram Air that Muscle cars have been using for the past century.

If that BS ricer logic was the case we’ d all be running down the road with NHRA Snorkel scoops on our hoods. That be like covering up the air holes in your front bumper and then relocating your radiator on top of your hood and then slapping on a giant scoop to feed air to it. the only reason that scoop exist there is to mark up the price of the WRX.

Your ignorance is unbelievable.
This Subaru has a top mount intercooler which needs are to do its job. When you are cruising down the highway with an STi with out a hood scoop and a stock intercooler you’re losing valuable horse power and over heating your engine. I realize this whole conversation is lost on you because you probably don’t even know what an intercooler is.
