For full article: www.edmunds.com You’ve done your part in propagating the species and propping up the mortgage industry and your reward is…you get to drive a minivan. If so, you might as well drive the best minivan. And in our comparison test last year, we determined that the best in the class was the Honda Odyssey. But now there’s an all-new 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan overstuffed with features to challenge for the coveted crown.

I do like the dodge grand caravan, But everything on the car is very, very cheap. We have a 2005 and everytime you hit a bump the dashboard raddles very bad. The seals rear doors are very creeky. The chrome is falling off the back lettering. The auto-matic door and door locks are sometimes un-responsive. And the panels near the steering wheel are falling off. But the van is very quick. also the transmission isn’t so hot it takes a very long time to shift gears, but overall the preformance is ok.

does anyone want the true reason why the forign cars have better stuff its because the union want money and the american companys cant stay open and built nice interiors at the same time the forgin companys dont pay the union thats why there “interiors” are nicer shut the unoin down and american cars will destroy forgin cars there will not be hondas our toyotas . DODGE 4 EVER SUCKA

Look up recalls, that’s a good start. Dodge brakes last 20-30k miles for FULL brakejob replacement. Even the stock tires last only 40k. I could go on for a while as a long time Dodge employee….cheap parts and design add up to a bad vehicle. There is a reason it costs thousands less than a Quest or Oddysey.

@soccermomd00d Never seen the dash layout on the 08′s and up, only that i’ve never had a complaint about my mom’s 02 dash, works very well. Maybe it’s so nice because i’m used to the 73-87 Chevy truck interior, when trucks were trucks with no features or comforts, just what they needed to get the job done. Anywho, I agree Chrysler does need to step it up with the interiors, i’ve always liked the leather interiors but am not impressed by the cloth seats in mom’s van.

  5. soccermomd00d says:

@snakesonaplane2 Sorry, but two-tone leather seats and fake wood grain on the dash doesn’t take away the fact that the dash layout is inferior, and the back seats are nowhere near as nice.

Besides, how can you compare a mass produced to a “specialty” model of limited production? Where they actually employ quality that should be in ALL Chryslers.

  6. soccermomd00d says:

@playone4me WAT. Both the Sienna and the Odyssey are built in America. Plus they’re both JAPANESE car makes. Chinese cars suck.

  7. soccermomd00d says:

@Jkillah29 Now, because of too many corners cut, the Caravan goes from “THE shit” to simply “shit”.

  8. soccermomd00d says:

    @1records1 No.

Comparing Chrysler trash to a Honda: one may as well compare a BMW to a Daewoo. No contest.

  9. soccermomd00d says:

@cladimere This was a comparison between the current leader and the minivan that originally started the class of vehicle. Sienna represents neither, as the Odyssey has always had the advantage.

Best for breeders? LOL- it’s pretty good for we homos as well ;) No attempt to compromise for something else here!

Mom’s van that Dad can drive without feeling like a mom? WTF? If it’s a mom’s van a dad is still gonna feel like a mom. That made no sense..

  13. cladimere says:

    they forgot the freakin sienna.

  14. cladimere says:

    @p0pe1991 true dat

  15. beatlespersun says:

Screw minivans, we got a used ’04 Volvo XC90. It’s the safest car out there & gets 23 MPG

  16. p0pe1991 says:

@JETZcorp haha yea that would be pretty badass

  17. JETZcorp says:

@p0pe1991 When the minivan is the first car that the son or daughter gets to drive, that becomes important. The combination of doing burn-outs in the school parking lot, and being able to comfortably seat six members of the opposite sex all help a minivan to overcome some of its cattle-car image. Besides, that Grand Caravan will beat one of them there manly F-150s in the 0-60. Then of course, there’s always plenty of room to put a Hemi in the rear and have the ultimate drag racing sleeper.

  18. JELH says:

    I hate minivans.

  19. 1records1 says:

Dodge is WAY WAY WAY better

  20. scottyk1030 says:

  22. AbdulAzizDar says:

    I say dodge

  23. Jkillah29 says:

im 18 and we used to have the caravan all the way back when it first came out, it was cherry red and oh so nice, good memories in that van, it was the shit back then.

  24. pugsrkool says:

My mom has a 2005 Honda odyssey it’s cool and safe

  25. tough1 says:

@novakjmn1356 I would probably go for the Odyssey if it comes with a good price, since it has the best performance out of most minivans.
